How to juggle multiple advertiser requests

A few months ago I wouldn't have thought I'd face this problem.

I've had a banner advertiser on my site since late 2005. His banners are only on 27 of the 1700+ pages of my site. We worked out a pricing agreement in late 2005, and he's paying the equivalent of $1 CPM. It's not big money, just $1200 a year.

Back in February another advertiser approached me and wanted run of the site banner ads. I agreed to give him roughly 1400 pages, and he agreed to pay me $2000 a month. His CPM is about $2.

Just days after the February advertiser and I reached our agreement, another company contacted me about being on the site. I explained that the available ad space is currently taken.

The other day I was contacted by the media agency for the 2005 advertiser. Banner ads on my site apparently convert better for them than any other site, and they want to increase their ad buy. I had to explain to them that the February advertiser had the rest of the available pages, and wasn't willing to share them. No banner rotations.

The $2000 is a nice addition to my income, but it's never a good idea to have too much invested in any single client, no matter what your business is.

I'm trying to figure out how to keep the 2005 advertiser and the other advertiser in my back pocket just in case my $2000 a month client should ever decide to pull the plug.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Would it be possible to rotate the ads? Giving each advertiser as much as you can give them?

Nope. Not possible. The owner of the $2000 a month company once worked for the owner of the 2005 advertiser, and they're still bitter towards each other.

Also, the $2000 a month advertiser would like his ads on every single page of the site. I have an online store that I started in December that's just getting off the ground. He'd like to take that over as well, but I'm afraid of having too many eggs in one basket.

Auction, or approach each one and explain your situation and have them give you their best offer. Highest bidder takes all.

clickbaker, you carry the power and you need to negotiate for what you want, if you don't want all your eggs in the same basket then tell them so and tell them how you going to deal with it.

This is your business keep the strength
